Terry N. Eberhardt, Howard County Teacher of the Year, (Baritone) received his Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and Masters Degree in Opera Performance at The University of Maryland Opera Studio.
Mr. Eberhardt has performed in various operatic works. Mr. Eberhardt, is well known to Baltimore audiences with performances in The Magic Flute as Papageno, the title role in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and in La Boheme as Marcello with The Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore, Inc.
Mr. Eberhardt has performed Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro, Leporello in Don Giovanni Papageno in The Magic Flute and Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte with The In Series in Washington D.C. Mr. Eberhardt will reprise his role of Papageno with the In Series this November at Gala Hispanic Theater.
Mr. Eberhardt is the proud recipient of The Maryland State Teachers Award, The Maryland Distinguished Scholarship in talent and education, and The Peabody Scholarship in talent.
As an educator Mr. Eberhardt spent four years teaching General Music, chorus, and Drama at Shady Grove Middle School in Montgomery County. Recently Mr. Eberhardt was appointed Performing Arts Chair at Marriotts Ridge High School in Marriottsville Maryland. Mr. Eberhardt has also directed at Trinity College where his success led the gospel choir to televised performances before the United States Congress.
Mr. Eberhardt has been guest conductor for the Frederick County Fifth Grade Honors Chorus, The Washington County Middle School Honors Chorus, The Easton Shore Middle School Honors Chorus, The Charles County Middle School Honors Chorus, Charles County Tri-county Honors Chorus and has directed Youth Choirs throughout the state of Maryland.
Mr. Eberhardt is also an active adjudicator and clinician. Recently Mr. Eberhardt has given clinics in vocal techniques for the classroom and the vocal instrument. Mr. Eberhardt has been a choral adjudicator for festivals throughout the state of Maryland. Mr. Eberhardt has also served as adjudicator for the Baltimore County Solo and Ensemble festival as well as the State Level Solo Ensemble Festival.
Mr. Eberhardt teaches voice, privately to students in the greater metropolitan area. His students have been extremely successful in performance and competition. Mr. Eberhardt’s talents as a vocal educator have been recognized by the Young People’s Summer Stock Camp where he has been on voice faculty for the past ten summers.
